Data Engineer
Do you want to join the technological revolution? Tendium is looking for a Data Engingeer to join the team.
Procurement information is available across all kinds of sources and in all kinds of formats. As a data engineer at Tendium, you will work with building and maintaining systems to collect, enrich and manage this information, and make sure that our customers are able to extract and get value from it while using our product suite.
Why Tendium
Tendium is a forward leaning company that is all about creating value - both for our customers, but also for society at large. Increasing the efficiency of the competition for public contracts, and the accessibility of information about them, is a cornerstone in efficient use of taxpayer money. Making this happen through use of cutting edge technology and innovative solutions is what we’re all about.
We are an ever-growing company comprised of some of the sharpest minds in Sweden. With such talent, we at Tendium naturally believe in a flat hierarchy where everyone has responsibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to provide input. Since we are increasing in size significantly, new opportunities are constantly emerging. We require ambitious, conscientious, and value-driven new colleagues to help grow the business. If you are successful in becoming a part of our team, we promise to provide a dynamic and intellectually stimulating workplace. We believe that personal and professional development is crucial, and as such, you will have the opportunity to take on real responsibility from day one.
The Job
The work environment will be agile, and you’ll work alongside self-sustaining teams. Your team will have full ownership over the products and features you create, leveraging continuous delivery practices. We strive towards having development teams at Tendium that are self-reliant, comprising a spectrum of skills encompassing backend, frontend, infrastructure, and dev-ops expertise.
As a team, we always strive to use state-of-the-art technology and stay at the forefront of development. Working agile means that we build minimum viable products, but we always aim for high-quality code. Moreover, we want everyone to contribute with thoughts and ideas, whether it is in their area of expertise or not. And if you want to dig deep in a technical area you will always find someone interested in the team
We are looking for primarily Stockholm based candidates and we work in a hybrid environment. We regularly organise after work activities and we want to maintain our friendly and informal atmosphere.
Our current stack:
Backend: Python, NodeJS (TypeScript), GraphQL (microservice architecture)
DBs: DocumentDB (MongoDB), PostgreSQL
Infrastructure: AWS containerized and serverless compute through TypeScript CDK
Languages: Python (primary backend), Typescript (backend and infrastructure)
Who we are looking for
For this position, we seek an individual who can demonstrate responsibility and initiative, as well as great attention to detail. You should value structure and possess a good ability to write scalable code at both macro and micro levels. You need to be comfortable with data modelling and have an understanding of how data decisions made upstream in a data pipeline affect end results.
At Tendium, the tech teams work with continuous delivery and we aim for fast delivery with quality code, without over-engineering. We value constructive problem solving and are looking for someone who enjoys taking on new tasks and features and appreciates learning about and using new technology and solutions. Furthermore, we are on the lookout for individuals who find fulfilment in collaborative problem-solving and appreciate collaborating closely with team and colleagues (e.g. pair programming), and that is why we are looking for those qualities in you.
Ideal candidates should have a few years of experience in backend development with a focus on data engineering.
Note that by experience, we do not necessarily mean employment. We care about what you can do, not how long you’ve been on the payroll. We are open to ambitious candidates who have recently graduated, as long as they can demonstrate extraordinary understanding of what the role entails and how they can contribute.

MSc Degree in computer science or similar
Backend programming experience in Python and/or TypeScript
